Thanks for the mention - I was glad to allow these two zombies stories (Pariah and In Sickness) to see the light of day again after their airing in the Zombies anthology from Accent UK. I would suggest a look at Robots from Accent as well. Value for money... (www.accentukcomics.com)
Cheers

Hi Mathew,

Thanks for reading! As its writer, I was gratified when David decided to incorporate Dead Eyes Open in the anthology in its entirety -- it's a more "challenging" book than a lot of its contemporaries, so I was surprised and gratified to discover that he'd really gone above and beyond in finding stories that redefine the genre and explore it in entirely new ways. It's a fantastic anthology and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Hi, Mathew,

Thanks for the review. Glad you (mostly) liked the book. Yes, everyone should read Scott Hampton's fab adaptation of Pigeons From Hell (and track down the original story - definitely one of RE Howard's best). You're dead right I was trying to steer clear of the more usual shuffling zombie fare - both because it was hard to get permission for those stories but also the stuff I was interested in, and got me into the genre, were stories where the character not gore dominated. Not that there's anything wrong with gore in the right places. And I'm very grateful to Carlos for the fantastic cover.
